Prayer Journal
I know there are true prayer warriors out there - I do my best, but I am at the moment a bit of a novice when it comes to consistently holding a conversation with the Almighty. I’m a little on the non-verbal side, so I’m grateful that God knows my heart, too.
Please join your prayers with mine for these intentions:
- my neighbour, C., who is the daughter of a good friend of my mom’s. We all attend the same parish, and C. has been diagnosed with cancer; she is currently undergoing difficult treatment and needs much prayer;
- for our new parish priests, and for all priests and those in religious life, that they may draw closer to God and lead us closer as well. For our new priests that he will invigorate our parish with the truth and love of the Gospel, and that we will live it out in our community.
- for Rose Marie, that she will continue her recovery from leukemia.
- for the Catholic Women’s League, that we will promote the Gospel of Christ lived out through faithful women where ever we go; that we will defend the sanctity of life and marriage, and will build one another up in Christ as true sisters in the Church.
- for my sister, that she will find peace and self acceptance, and the help she needs.
- for my nieces, that they are loved and taken care of; that they come to know Christ in their lives and know His love and peace.
- for me, that I will continue to persevere with myself to better health and wellness - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually!
We pray to the Lord. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - Amen.

My Prayer for you for July/2007.
My prayer for you is that you and Curt would grow more and more in love and that your love may abound and grow in Christ and that all you do as individuals and as a couple will continue to reflect the love you share, the joy you find in being creative in cyberspace, the work you put into your blogs, your life and your relationship with one another, with others and with God. My hearts desire is that you will always find the inner peace in knowing your love is a 3 strand cord, Curt, Rebecca and God…and that nothing can break that bond that is so much reflected in your life together. May God richly bless you life, your relationship, and meet your every need and give you the desires of your heart…With much love and gratitude that you are my sister…Love you “all-ways” and always…Val.xoxoxox

I have been to your necks of the woods, once to make a film. I have made films for twenty odd years, and now in midlife, I am contemplating finally a vocation to a monastic life. When I read your forward above, regarding prayer, it reminded me of myself, earlier in this year of discernment, and a conversation I had with my spiritual director, from St. Meinrad’s Archabbey, in southern Indiana. I applaud your candor and your enthusiasm. I hope you become a Graphic designer. Look up, when you have the time, “Sister Corita”, online. She was a wonderful graphic artist and devout nun, during the 1960’s, and left quite the legacy.
In Peace.
